yes i know the common meaning of the idiom but from cassie and takako’s reactions that’s clearly not what he meant, he’s being clever or at least referring to something else and it’s going over my head.
Delaying telling someone about a decision you already made that affects them is not something you “sleep on”. ‘Cause when she finally tells Maureen in that case, she won’t be happy.
Best to do this right away – there are lies of omission, you know, and she already delayed telling her about the possibility of going.
