It sounds like she’s actually on good terms with them, which is good to hear.
Although she’d rather not actually go home to see them. That’s probably not because of them, but because of something/someone else from home that she’d rather not deal with.
An old lover, perhaps? Or just the awkwardness of “home” for someone who’s transitioned, especially if much of the transitioning happened after she left home…
