I dunno. Personally I’d give it a clear. Awkward, but not really wrong. After all, *someone* wrote the cited paper. Maybe it’s not the most reliable source, but it’s not plagiarism.
Enhhh… no. That’s considered a secondary source, and is it’s own no no. You would want to quote and cite the primary source that THAT paper was citing.
So the question becomes… is this better or worse than citing Wikipedia as a source?

In retrospect, it was probably a mistake to make Iotheran wireless addresses look so much like real world URLs, but I guess I wanted to make sure they immediately recognizable.
